This online Foundation course in the use of Botulinum Toxin Type A & Hyaluronic Acid (Dermal Filler) has been designed for medical professionals wishing to become certified to practice these treatments as an extension of their current practice. In the United Kingdom, currently certification requires some face-to-face training in addition to any online learning. For more information on training opportunities in the UK, visit www.visage-aesthetics.com/academy.html It has been written by Dr Michael David Aicken, a medical Doctor based in the United Kingdom who has been practicing Aesthetics Injectables for over 13 years and training other professionals for over 10 years. With revalidation coming in for professionals doing Aesthetics in 2018 we are also including access to our e-portfolio system with these courses and both courses can be used as part of self-verified CPD points. Trainees undertaking either course will receive a certificate of completion.  Those combining the foundation and advanced course will receive an e-Diploma from Visage Academy in the administration and the use of Botulinum Toxin Type A & Hyaluronic Acid Gel for Aesthetics.

  1. non medical therapist

I found this course easy to follow and great to be able to go back and reaffirm learning when needed…. I was also good to watch the video presentations rather than just reading all the information.

  2. Great Videos

All the videos are straight to the point and very informative. The vidoes aren’t waffely or boring, they are straight to the point and easy to watch / understand. The quiz questions are laid out perfect and you can re take the quiz questions as many times as you want, which is a good feature as you can see where you were going wrong at first and correct and learn from your mistakes.

  3. Ideal training

I booked on this course last minute as I had been apprehensive about training in this field for a few months. Luckily due to the current world situation, I changed my mind from attending a course in London (with a lot of unnecessary travel) to a course closer to home. I am very glad that I did. I felt this course provided opportunities others did not. You have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the course theory as much as you want prior to having practical sessions. You also continue to have access to this material for a year after signing up. I felt more relaxed when I attended the practical course as I had some knowledge already and this made more feel more at ease with the patients we had. In addition, I needed to email afterwards for some advice and was surprised at how quickly I was responded to. Dr. Aicken is extremely professional, easy to train with and very approachable both during in person training and once the course is completed. My only regret is that I didn’t book on a more advanced course initially, thinking I could not possibly achieve more than the basics at this early stage. For any further aesthetic training, I will definitely be doing so with Visage Aesthetics! Thanks to the team. Amy K

    Thank you!!

  33. Very Logical flow and informative

I appreciated the logical flow of information and practical visual sessions. Intricate detail presented in a straightforward manner with both verbal and visual structure. Thank You

  34. Good

Yeah good course , prefer face to face as you can ask questions see materials would be a welcome addition after teaching but would prefer tradition course. Makes the evening session very expensive would agree if it reduced price but it doesn’t !!
Some errors loading website too which is annoying.

  35. Sharon Gilmartin19th March 2017 at 10:01 am

Mike is easy to listen to and explains things in simple terms, in a relaxed manner. I particularly liked the section on how to pass the practical assessments, because I can go to London for the practical training with confidence. The video training is an excellent idea for busy clinic owners like me because I can log in at my leisure & recap if I want to. I would suggest updating some of the quiz’s after each training video, with extra questions and remove some of the very simple multiple choice answers. I’m really looking forward to the practical course in London and I do hope I get to practice on several models because while the theory is important I feel practical experience is the absolute key to confidence with injectables. I have worked as an assistant to my visiting dermatologist for 9 years whom does injectable dermal fillers and Botox and whilst there is merit in me watching her do Botox & dermal fillers, nothing beats doing it yourself. The ultimate review of this course will be after the practical session finishes in London, so the more models I practice on the more confident I’ll be because I don’t need to go to London to watch injectables as I get this experience in my own clinic regularly. Mike I know a lot of hard work has gone into your training course, as its well thought out and put together. I selected your course because it was highly recommended to me and because I prefer to be trained by a doctor. There are other dermal filler & Botox courses in the UK run by beauty therapists & whilst I’m sure they can deliver the course well in pratcical terms I doubt very much the theory could possibly be as detailed as yours. keep up the good work & keep writing online courses.

  45. Refresher course of foundation training

I undertook the practical course with Michael 2.5years ago and have been carrying out Botox and fillers since. It was very good going back over the original course material for revision purposes and also honing my skill set.
Very convenient being able to do this at home/work in my own time as opposed to booking designated time off to attend a specific course.
